Opportunity- Op Model Work

Hi everyone- I have an imminent opportunity for a consultant to do op model design and improvement work.

  • It is not a coaching role - but a consulting role to help a midsized client define their op model for their business.
  • NOT software development op model.
  • There will be a need to produce some docs too.

Any ideas @TLooy @SeanWBuck anyone?

Hi @GeorgeSchlitz. Please excuse my ignorance, I’ve been out of the business for awhile but I guess that allows me to ask dumb questions. What does Op Model Design work look like? And what modeling patterns do you anticipate being used? (e.g. Wardley maps, information flow, current/future reality trees, team topologies, other?)

Hi Tom! No worries. Op Model design in this case includes (I am making some assumptions based on partial knowledge of the need)

  • working with client to design how they are organized and how they operate
    • could be some org design (but not likely a lot as I think they have this somewhat figured out)
    • value stream clarification for how they delive value to customers
    • processes design/clarification
  • Creation of documentation (diagrams and other supporting content) for the above
  • Potentially planning how to implement the above

Does this help?

Yes, this helps. Is this the same opportunity where you were asking for someone with Wardley map experience?

It is a different client and Wardley will not be part of it

Hi @GeorgeSchlitz Did you find someone to do this Op Model Work? Have you considered Richard Watt? His tenure at Salesforce is likely to be ending soon.

He would be great- thanks for letting me know tom

Did anything come of the Wardley Map opportunity?

Not yet- client going through major org shaleup
